Description:
The Armidale Pine Forest is located 3.5 km northeast of Armidale on the Rockvale Road. An area of 170ha that is a very popular destination for walkers, mountain bikers and for picnickers. Horse riders are also welcome. They will need to borrow a key from Council to gain access. The pine forest is divided into eastern and western sections by the Tilbuster Ponds creek. There is good parking and easy access for pedestrians with five gates located around the perimeter. The New England Mountain Bikers (NEMTB) have set up a network of cycling tracks and hold a number of events and training programs. The New England Medieval Arts Society (NEMAS) is restoring a medieval heritage area on the eastern side of forest and they hold regular events there.
