Description:Sitting on a high, narrow headland, Smoky Cape is completely surrounded by the unspoilt coastal scenery of Hat Head National Park, a picture of splendid isolation. Smokey Cape is located some 420km north of Sydney, or 40km north-east of Kempsey, along the South West Rocks road. Constructed in 1891, the lighthouse has an octagonal tower with a prominent balcony, with commanding views over pristine beaches to the north and south. The lightstation is reached by a steep, narrow pathway from the national park.
