Lake Lyell is located on the Rydal Road, off the Great Western Highway, 140km west of Sydney. Lake Lyell provides cooling water for both Wallerawang and Mt Piper Power Stations. The Lake is connected to Wallerawang Lake by pipeline and hence to Wallerawang and Mt Piper Stations.
