Description:
The Liverpool Plains is a region of prime agricultural land. It is bounded to the east by the Great Dividing Range and to the south by the Liverpool Range. It is drained by the Namoi River and its tributaries, and by the Mooki River. Towns in the Liverpool Plains include Gunnedah, Quirindi, and Tamworth. Agricultural settlement of the Liverpool Plains started in the late 1820's and since then it has been one of the prime agricultural regions of New South Wales.
