Description:Bishop’s Lodge is an 1888 iron house designed by architect John Sulman and the Bishop of the Riverina to combat the region’s extreme climate. The building is surrounded by a historic garden, which contains a remarkable collection of heritage roses, some of which are unique to this garden. The Bishop’s Lodge garden is one of the most beautiful in the Riverina. Tended by a dedicated group of volunteers, the garden combines historic trees, wide lawns, native plantings, and a hidden garden of long-lost old-fashioned roses. The roses bloom from October to May, although Spring is the best time to enjoy the stunning display.
