Description:
The Barrington River originates within the Barrington Tops National Park, approximately 200 km north of Sydney, at Edward's Swamp - a sphagnum moss swamp - within the sub-alpine area known as the Barrington Tops. From there it flows through scenic gorges, forming white water rapids in its upper section, and calm, tranquil pools in its lower section. Sections of the white water rapids are suitable for canoeing.
