Description:Approximately six kilometres west of Polblue Swamp on the Barrington Tops Forest Road, the Firs Picnic Area is located within a Douglas fir plantation. The picnic area is also the start of the Firs walking trail. Planted in the 1960s, the area is now a haven for lyrebirds who feed on insects in the pine litter. This is a dark and exotic place, with very little light reaching the forest floor even on bright, sunny days.
