Description:
Glen Davis is an old shale-mining town, now largely abandoned, with a population of about 20. Excellent selection of roads with Great Dividing Range escarpment in background (escarpment faces west). Rugged escarpment background, lush plain foreground. Glen Davis has many abandoned shops/buildings, many empty derelict buildings. Accommodation available in town at the Glen Davis Hotel. Old shale mining workings nearby. Glen Davis is approx 1 hrs drive east of Rylstone and about 45 mins in from Capertee on the main Lithgow to Mudgee road.
