Description:
The Cadia district has a history of mining and exploration dating back more than 140 years. The Cadia open pit became operational in 1998 and is still in use. It is now operated by Newcrest Mining Ltd. Cadia is situated approximately 25 kilometres south of Orange in NSW Central Tablelands. Note: Mining operations have increased significantly since these images were taken.
