Description:The pine forests in Canobolas State Forest were established in 1947, and are now self sown, therefore wild and a good place to portray people lost in a maze of timber. Mt Canobolas is approximately 12km south-west of Orange. The ground images here are taken 100m from the main road. Access is generally good. The entire forest covers an area of 1673 hectares. It has the highest mountain peak and some of the most diverse vegetation in the central west. The area supports sub-alpine communities dominated by snow gums, dry and moist eucalypt woodlands and tall eucalypt forests to the south and east of Mount Canobolas.
