Description:Set in a lagoon cove and mostly sheltered from large swells, Wattamolla Beach is the safest and most popular stretch of Royal National Park's 26km coast. Fringed by bushland, the unpatrolled beach, which derives its name from the local Aboriginal meaning “place near running water’’, is wide, shaded by trees and has crystal clear water. The lagoon, which runs behind the beach and has a waterfall, is ideal for toddlers, while the grassed and shaded clifftop overlooking the beach and waterfall is ideal for picnics and has a kiosk and BBQs.
