Description:Situated in Waverley, Queens Park forms part of Centennial Parklands and was constructed from swamplands into a natural amphitheatre at the foot of sandstone cliffs. Queens Park was established to commemorate the centenary of European settlement. At one point in the late 19th century the park contained an 11-hole golf course but since the 1930s has been mainly used for organised sports such as soccer, rugby and touch football as the park is equipped with playing fields.
