Description:Lion Island is an uninhabited rocky island resembling a resting lion which guards the entrance to Broken Bay. It is also home to a penguin colony and many endangered plant & wildlife species. In order to protect the flora & fauna, NPWS do not allow any filming on the island itself. It can however be filmed from the water. National Parks & Wildlife Service look after Lion Island & the Barrenjoey headland park (part of Ku-ring-gai Chase Nat Pk), but the rest of the area is managed by Pittwater Council.
