Description:Steeped in history, the federation gothic building housing MRAG is an awe inspiring example of early 1900s architecture renowned for its structural features which are of statewide significance. Originally the Maitland Technical College which opened in 1910, the building has since been reinvigorated by an award winning extension, expanding the gallery from three gallery spaces to the spacious gallery people know and love today. Maitland Regional Art Gallery is home to an impressive collection of more than 6,000 works. Each year the gallery shows thousands of artworks. Onsite is the Gallery Shop which stocks beautiful, quirky and locally crafted artisan products, and the cafe.
