Description:
Bass Point Reserve is a unique area of stunning natural beauty, a 72 hectare coastal jewel just south of Shellharbour Village. It’s particularly special because it contains one of the few remaining stands of littoral rainforest in the Illawarra. It’s also the location of significant Aboriginal middens and other non-Aboriginal heritage items. The waters around Bass Point are home to numerous marine species, making the area a haven for divers from around the state. One of its inlets, Bushrangers Bay, is a dedicated Aquatic Reserve. You can get to Bass Point by following the signs from the village of Shellharbour, which is approx 20kms south of Wollongong.
