Description:The Hume Reservoir is located immediately below the junction of the Murray and Mitta Mitta Rivers, 16 kilometres east of Albury-Wodonga and 560km south-east of Sydney. The Hume Reservoir is the main operating storage of the River Murray system. Construction of the reservoir commenced in 1919 and was completed in 1936. Hume Dam is jointly managed by Victorian and New South Wales authorities on behalf of the Murray-Darling Basin Authority.
