Revy Building
Australia / Pyrmont, New South Wales
Location ID: #16991
The great building at Sydney's Pyrmont is the Ordnance Building at the Royal Edward Victualling Yard - REVY - built between 1903 and 1912 service the Royal Navy's Australia Station ships.
It is Sydney's equivalent to the historic former Royal William Victualling Yard complex at Plymouth, and the Royal Clarence Victualling Yard at Gosport [Portsmouth] in the U.K.
Looked at here in their original uses, both the REVY and the Ordnance Stores are a fascinating part of Sydney's naval heritage. Fortunately, they have been preseved.
