The Bellinger Valley includes verdant green pastures, framed by the low, forested mountain range, and pockets of rainforest. The town of Bellingen is located within the Bellinger Valley south of Coffs Harbour, roughly halfway between Sydney and Brisbane. The township is based around traditional farming and alternative communities. The Bellinger River runs through the town, not far from the Promised Land waterhole. The town has been kept in good condition, with most buildings dating back to the early 20th century.
