Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse
Australia / Seal Rocks, New South Wales
Location ID: #16350
Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse at Seal Rocks was added to Myall Lakes National Park in March 2003. It was the 10th historic lighthouse in NSW to be added to the NPWS collection of historic lighthouses. The lighthouse was established in 1875 and is an important component of the string of lighthouses built in the 19th century to light the NSW coastline.
The lighthouse stands on a remote and dramatic headland east of Seal Rocks village, 90 minutes north of Newcastle. The lighthouse precinct consists of a number of buildings, including the head keeper's cottage and two assistant keepers' cottages.
