The Crackenback Range is located within Kosciuszko National Park and the outskirts of the Thredbo River Valley between Jindabyne and Thredbo.
Sitting at the base of the range is the alpine village of Thredbo.
Kosciuszko National Park is one of the largest national parks in Australia. It covers over 6,900 km² and contains Australia's highest peak, Mount Kosciuszko, and Cabramurra the highest town in Australia. Its borders contain a mix of rugged mountains and wilderness, characterised by an alpine climate.
The park is located in the south-eastern corner of NSW, 492kms south-west of Sydney.
