The Springs Homestead is the original property of Arthur and Isabella Baird, who between 1846 and 1857 secured over 26000 acres of land, on which now lies both The Springs and Oxley Downs Homesteads.
Descendants of Arthur and Isabella Baird, the Tourle family, continue to farm these holding today.
On the site of the Springs lies a working shearing shed as well as the historic shearers living quarters.
Oxley Downs Homestead is 35 km past Western Plains Zoo, out of Dubbo on the Yeoval/Obley Rd. Turn left at Paddys Creek Road, then follow the signs. The Springs Homestead is 5 min further down the road.
