North Fort was part of 300 km / 186 miles of coastal defence systems for Sydney and contributed to the defence of the harbour during WWII. Hidden by an abundance of native bushland, North Fort and its underground tunnel system includes 200 meters of restored tunnels, a Magazine and Shell store and an Engine Room.
Located at one end of North Fort tunnels is a steep staircase leading to the Engine Room and at the other, a freshly painted camouflage flooring and gun emplacement.
