Kempsey Airport
Australia / Kempsey, New South Wales
Location ID: #15660
Small, council-owned airport still maintained by council which has a tarmac that can take Hercules airplanes (was used by the airforce in 1950s) - 650 metres by 30 metres wide – ICAO code 3C – sealed apron to terminal, taxi way edge lighting, concrete refuelling area - doesn’t get as fogged in as some other airports. Ansett used to land at the airport. This info is from a recent survey on the airport conducted by Council (2007). It also has an old terminal building built around 1950s. As is doesn’t have regular traffic (a few private planes) a project could have major use of the facility.
