Dalgety is located on the Snowy River, 51 kilometres from Cooma. The tiny township is surrounded by granite outcrops which give the area a very cold, glaciated feel. There is a bridge dating back to 1888, an historic pub and the old ‘Dalgety House’. In autumn, willows and poplars bloom along the river. Agriculture in the area includes sheep, cattle, angora goats and llama farms.
