Prospect Reservoir is located on Prospect Creek, 35 km west of Sydney. It is still used to supply water to Sydney, especially at times when other catchments are quite low.

Prospect Reservoir was built in 1888 as the major holding basin for Sydney's water supply.

Located west of Sydney, the reservoir itself is owned & looked after by the Sydney Catchment Authority, while the area around it is owned & operated by Sydney Water.
