Embassy Conference Centre
Australia / Chippendale, New South Wales
Location ID: #10983
Built in 1894, this former bank is a flamboyant example of Federation Romanesque architecture with an intact facade by the prominent architect Varney Parkes. The arched entry and twin cupolas make the building a distinctive landmark in this area to the south of the centre of Sydney. Used as a bank for a century by Bank of NSW and then Westpac, it was sold to a non-profit organisation. Part of the building is now owned by Embassy Events and can be rented for meetings, offices, classrooms and events. The building is also used by the IFGF Sydney Church.
