The Perry Sandhills, located just outside Wentworth on the Renmark Road, are a unique land formation of continuously shifting red sand dunes. According to geologists the 400 acres of dunes originated after an ice age 40,000 years ago and are formed by wind erosion over thousands of years.
These dunes provide locations for many scenes from both Australian and international film productions, including 'The Man from Snowy River II', 'Burke & Wills', 'Flying Doctors' and 'Boney', as well as children's TV series 'Ocean Girl' and 'Thunder Stone'.
