Orange is located around 276km west of Sydney. This regional city has many Victorian houses/mansions, three golf courses, and a high mountain (Mt Canobolas). In winter there is snow. There are many deciduous trees in and around Orange. Streets are all tree lined. As Australia’s first gold was discovered at Ophir, near Orange, there are many old mining sites, particularly at Lucknow (10km from Orange). Orange has a large recreational lake (Lake Canobolas), on the slopes of Mt Canobolas. The area is surrounded by orchards and vineyards.
