An attractive rural town at the heart of Cabonne Shire whose name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning ‘place of many rocks’. Molong dates from 1849 - many of its early buildings are still standing - and flourished after the arrival of the railway in the 1880s. Many of the historic buildings are located on the main street, Banks St, and date from the 1870's and 1880's.
Molong is located 289 km/179.6 miles north-west of Sydney via the Mitchell Highway.
