The village of Blackheath is located near the highest point of the Blue Mountains, between Katoomba and Mount Victoria in NSW. The town's altitude is about 1,065 m and it is located about 120 km west north-west of Sydney. A pretty English-style village, it is renowned for its avenue of oak trees, which turn shades of red and gold in autumn. It has two historic pubs, gracious mountain cottages with cool-climate gardens, and a plethora of cafes, art galleries and the Victory Theatre Antique Centre, with its distinctive Jenny Kee mural painted on the side.
