At 1760m, Charlotte Pass is the highest village in Australia. It has ski trails catering for novices to advanced skiers and four lifts on offer. You can usually drive to Charlottes Pass via the Summit Road but in winter the road is so snowed under that the only way in is by the snowcats that run at intervals from Perisher. In spring and summer, people flock to Charlotte Pass to tackle the walking tracks.
