The Auburn Botanic Gardens are located in the western suburbs of Sydney. The site was established in 1977 and covers an area of 9.7 hectares (24 acres). There are two lakes, a small waterfall and several bridges. It is open daily to the public, with a small entry fee. The Japanese gardens, which form a 2 hectare (4 acres) section of the Botanic Gardens, are popular with visitors.
