The Oaks, a six bedroom Victorian Mansion, was built in 1884. The Oaks is a rare example of a rural gentlemans residence and is of high historical significance to Oakhurst, Blacktown, Western Sydney.

The Oaks historic homestead has wide surrounding verandahs. The sounds of modern traffic are not heard and the location is not in any flight paths. The Oaks sits on a 3 acre plot and there is adequate off-street parking for vehicles, trucks and film production equipment.

There is also the original cottage, predating the main residence and several sheds which could easily be adapted for various uses.

The main house features decorative timber lining boards, decorative arches, french doors and windows, as well as an oak staircase and a magnificent lead-light window imported from Ireland. The hall floor is tiled with large black and white tiles.

The Oaks property sits adjacent to a public reserve which incorporates a sportsfield as well as an area of remnant bushland.
