First mosque built in outback NSW and the only surviving mosque built by cameleers in Australia. Religious site and tourist destination. Constructed of corrugated iron sheets and wood, painted rust red. Avenue of date palm trees line the entrance. Alcove adjacent to mosque entrance has been converted into a museum featuring various cameleer items on display and billboards with historical information. Interior of mosque contains prayer rugs left by worshippers.
