Hillview is a vast country estate set in the rural Southern Tablelands. It is open to the public as a heritage hotel, with many of the original pieces of furniture adorning the eight double suites, lounge and bathrooms. Built between 1875 and 1900, the government-owned property is the former country home of the governors of NSW. The manor is set atop a hill overlooking the grassy countryside, and is complemented by a number of cottages and cabins. The furnishings of the estate have remained largely untouched since the 1950’s when the last governor departed and the property was sold, providing a window into the ways of life, taste and decoration of the 1880 period through to the 1950 period. This Southern Highlands property is Heritage listed.
