Location ID: #10073
Bellingen is located south of Coffs Harbour, roughly halfway between Sydney and Brisbane. The township is based around traditional farming and alternative communities. It is located within the Bellinger Valley.
The town centre has been kept in good condition, with most buildings dating back to the early 20th century. There is a good example of a General Store from that period. There are also a few distinctive Art Deco buildings.
The environment of the Bellinger Valley includes verdant green pastures, framed by the low, forested mountain range, and pockets of rainforest. The Bellinger River runs through the town, but more popular and visually stunning is the nearby Promised Land waterhole.
