Thirlmere Railway Heritage Precinct
Australia / Thirlmere, New South Wales
Location ID: #10066479
Thirlmere Railway Heritage Precinct is located at the heart of the quaint village of Thirlmere - an unspoiled rural setting with a range of historic buildings including station masters house, shops, goods shed, co-op shed and the 1860's era Station itself. A privately operated railway adjoins the station, and train operations are conducted by the NSW Rail Transport Museum between Picton, Thirlmere and Buxton - flexible for film productions as the railway is not used by commuter or freight trains. Thirlmere is especially suited to period films, from the 1860s - 1970's, but with the lure railway line extending through a range of bushland and rolling green hills - away from residential areas - anything is possible.
Thirlmere is a very flexible filming location with traffic controls easily implemented, and an operating railway free from commuter and freight train usage.
