St John's Cathedral

Built as the original St John's Church, St John's Cathedral was opened in 1846. The cathedral is very unique in its Gothic style of stone with shallow buttresses. On site there is a a square tower marked with carved finials.

The grand cathedral is thought to have been designed by the noted colonial architect Mortimer Lewis.
