Montessori East is a non-denominational and co-educational Montessori primary and pre-school for children aged from 3 to 12 years. The school strives to nurture each child's natural love of learning and desire to develop intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually as whole human beings. We provide students with skills that will help them to develop into independent, reflective and ethical adults, adhering to AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) principles and methodologies. Our dedicated teachers and assistants recognise and respect the dignity of the child, their individuality and great potential.

The school is licensed by the NSW Department of Community Services and registered with the NSW Board of Studies. Montessori East is a member of the Montessori Australia Foundation and the NSW Association of Independent Schools.
Our teachers are fully qualified Montessori teachers with additional teaching qualifications from mainstream university systems. Our rich and comprehensive curriculum is based on the highest standard Montessori program and linked to all outcomes from the NSW Board of Studies syllabus.

The unique Montessori classrooms are divided into multi-age environments of 3 to 6 year olds, 6 to 9 years and 9 to 12 years. The design fosters positive role modelling and supports all children in their journey to independence.

The classroom environment and specific Montessori learning materials support each child to meet their individual developmental needs for academic growth, self confidence and independent thinking and learning. The Montessori approach develops independent study habits, leadership skills, creative thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.

The school, located in the heart of the eastern suburbs, has bright attractive classrooms, a library, a canteen and separate playgrounds for the pre-primary and primary children. The students at Montessori East are drawn from a wide range of cultural, religious and social backgrounds. We celebrate this rich diversity in all areas of the curriculum.

Montessori East has operated in the eastern suburbs since 1978 and continues to attract more families who seek a full Montessori education through to high school and beyond.
