Jerilderie Shire Council was merged with Murrumbidgee Shire Council in 2016 to form Murrumbidgee Council - service centres are currently dealing with customers. MW 20/11/17

Murrumbidgee Council provides services and support to a community of 4,047 permanent residents in Coleambally, Darlington Point and Jerilderie.

The Council area is a thriving agricultural region, covering an area of 6,680 square kilometres including over 100 kilometres of natural river frontage to the Murrumbidgee River. The longest creek in Australia, the Billabong Creek, also runs through the Council.
