With expansive views of Sydney Harbour surrounded by the stunning landscape and architecture of Barangaroo, it’s no surprise that photographers and videographers love to capture its beauty.
Barangaroo welcomes and encourages all types of photographers in our public areas. Visitors are welcome to take photographs and do not require a permit.
However, like other popular public places around Sydney, Barangaroo has a permit system in place based on the impact of the filming and photography activity, ranging from low impact photoshoot to large-scale film production. If your group is less than 5 people (talent and crew), with minimal equipment (camera, tripod, boom and reflector) and no exclusive use of the public domain, you do not require a permit.
For additional shoot requirements, the system allows us to ensure that people doing professional work in the precinct have the appropriate insurance. It means we can work with you to create the perfect shot, to coordinate access as required and to notify retailers and other businesses at Barangaroo of your presence in the area at a particular time.
