The wool and cotton capital of Australia, Warren is situated on the banks of the Macquarie River. Villages - Collie and Nevertire. Macquarie Marshes - the most significant wetland complex in Australia and Merino Studs. Area is extremely flat except for occasional granite outcrops - Mt Foster (250m) and Mt Harris (240m). Vegetation - temperate tree savannah. The banks of the Macquarie River are lined with large river red gums. Large number of kangaroo and emu are prevalent.
