A fast growing residential, rural and industrial-based community, with an expanding tourism industry based on a rapid growth in boutique wine establishments providing fine wines and accommodation. Historic buildings and beautiful gardens are also major draw cards along-side the secret of beautiful Lake St Clair. Singleton was used as the site for the town of Brackley in the mini-series Marking Time. 70 crew stayed in Singleton for 2 weeks and in cooperation with the Council and community logged up many hours of production in the town centre. Over $200,000 was spent in Singleton during this production. Singleton was also host to the Australian Wife Carrying Titles, a Japanese production.
