Central Coast Council is the 2016 merger of Gosford City and Wyong Shire councils.

Ideally located on the northern fringe of Sydney and just half an hour drive from Newcastle, the Central Coast offers one of the best places in NSW to film. Everything is easy to get to: you can use our idyllic beaches and waterways in the morning and that same afternoon stand atop mountain peaks which offer extensive panoramic views to the coast.

It has a rich diversity of landscapes with the seaside towns of Ettalong, Avoca, Terrigal, The Entrance, Toowoon Bay and Bateau Bay and more than four times the waterfront of Sydney Harbour! Its pristine beaches and the extensive coastal estuary of Tuggerah Lakes are complemented by beautiful national parks and a lush hinterland.

Rural farming communities and gorgeous heritage villages from the Yarramalong Valley to Peats Ridge are set amongst deep valleys filled with untouched bushland and scrub and unspoilt mountain backdrops. The abundant natural beauty and extensive waterfront of the area provide the perfect backdrop for nature, rural, farming and water-based filming locations.

Towns such as Long Jetty, Woy Woy, Wyong and Gosford provide the area with thriving town centres full of bespoke dining and retail businesses which provide options for non-descript urban, CBD and industrial filming locations.

Combined with a mild, sunny climate and easy direct road and rail access, the Central Coast is the ideal location for film makers in search of locations with easy access to capital cities without compromising on quality scenery.
